physical education

A standard physical education uniform is required.  Uniforms are sold for $16.00.  Gym shoes are required.  Shoes must be clean so not to mark the floor.  Pay the school secretary and take your receipt to your teacher to receive your uniform.

In addition to taking regular P.E. classes, students may fulfill P.E. credit requirements through successful completion of two semesters of Marching Band.

stretch AND STRENGTH  A–B   (1002 and 1003)

Year: 2 credits            
Grade Level: 9, 10, 11, 12
Prerequisite: none
Dual Credit:  Credit may be taken through College of Western Idaho dependent upon age/grade.

Class focusing on strength, toning and flexibility activities such as yoga, pilates, circuit training, self-defense, kick boxing, etc

Girls beginning strength training (1000 and 1001)

Year: 2 credits
Grade Level: 9, 10, 11, 12

Focusing on health-related fitness components by integrating basic lifting components and basic skill-related fitness components

boy's Beginning Strength TRAINING  A-B   (1010 and 1011)

Year: 2 credits            
Grade Level: 9, 10, 11, 12

ADVANCED STRENGTH TRAINING A - B  (1014 and 1015)

Year:  2 credits

Prerequisite:  Beginning Strength Training

Weight lifting class for individuals involved in extracurricular activities. This class will focus on both health-related and skill-related fitness components

boy's LIFETIME ACTIVITIES a-b  (1020 and 1023)

Semester: 1 credit            
Grade Level: 10, 11, 12
Prerequisite : , P.C. 1 A-B, Physical Activities A-B or Weight Training, and instructor’s signature on registration form
Dual Credit:  Credit may be taken through College of Western Idaho dependent upon age/grade.

HEALTH  (1030)

Prerequisite: none

Note:  Meets Middleton High School gradation requirement.

This course is a holistic overview covering mental and emotional health, social health and physical wellness.  Through conceptual education students will learn and apply information on self-esteem, personality, emotions, relationships, communication, drugs, alcohol, physical fitness, safety and nutrition. 

Sports Medicine  a-b  (1025 and 1026)  

Year long: 2 credits
Grade level:  11, 12 
Prerequisite: Health and Human Structure & Function 
                                                             

Class designed for students that want to pursue a career in a health field by focusing on injury prevention, athletic injuries, CPR, basic first aid, etc. This is a yearlong class.
